COLLECT

So that no table goes without the essentials. 1 December 2026 A large-scale collective food collection initiative to tackle food insecurity.

We can all make a difference.

GivingTuesday is a global generosity movement that invites everyone to find their own way to give.

This year, GivingTuesday Greece and the Food Bank are joining forces in a collective effort to collect essential food items, bringing together individuals, businesses, employees and groups.

The Food Bank collects food and distributes it through charitable organisations, helping meet the basic needs of people experiencing food insecurity.

Through this collaboration, COLLECT introduces two new ways to make giving part of our everyday lives.

- The Food Bank ensures that the donations are put to good use.

The initiative can run for one or more days and involve a single department or the entire company.

Participating companies will receive:

- A list of recommended food items

HIGGS, 15 Viktoros Ougko Street, Metaxourgeio

1 December 2026

09:00–17:00

The list of food items will be announced soon.

All collected food will be picked up by the Food Bank.

COLLECT @ SUPERMARKET

A grocery shop can become an act of giving.

There are things we often take for granted.

A meal on the table. Essential food items at home. Being able to buy what you need.

For many people, however, these things cannot be taken for granted.

That is why GivingTuesday Greece is supporting the Food Bank’s food collection initiative at selected supermarkets.

How can you take part?

On 27 and 28 November and 4 and 5 December, you will find Food Bank volunteers at selected supermarkets across Attica.

Taking part is simple.

As you do your regular grocery shopping, you can add one or more essential food items from the Food Bank’s list to your basket. When leaving the supermarket, you can donate them at the COLLECT collection points.

One food item from you.

Another from someone else.

And another.

Every donation adds something. And together, they can become something much greater.

The collected food will be delivered to the Food Bank to help meet essential needs.

What happens to the food you donate?

The Food Bank will manage all donations, ensuring they are put to good use and distributed free of charge through its network of charitable organisations.

From giving to where it is needed most.

Why COLLECT?

Food insecurity is not always visible. Access to essential food, however, is an everyday need.

COLLECT gives more people a simple, practical way to make a difference.

One donation may be small. Together, our donations can make a big difference.
